ICCT Director on Misconception of Indonesia as Jihad Fighters Hotbed

  Following the terrorist attacks in Jakarta on 14 January 2016, ICCT Director Mark Singleton was interviewed by Mark Heerink of the Dutch news agency RTL Nieuws to discuss the background of this attack. According to Mark Singleton, Indonesia has a pre-dominantly moderate form of Islam and regards the so-called "Islamic State" as a major threat. Moreover, the country invests significantly in the prevention of radicalisation. It is therefore a misconception to think that Indonesia is a hotbed of jihad fighters. Read the article (Dutch).
