ICCT in the Media: Teun van Dongen on the IS prison attack

On 14 February, Senior Research Fellow and Programme Lead Teun van Dongen was invited to comment on the attack on an IS prison in northeast Syria in an interview with Mondiaal Nieuws. Teun emphasised the complex situation in Syria and the lack of a strong authority in the country. He also highlighted that the attack should be considered a wake-up call for European countries to repatriate their citizens and prosecute them in their countries of origin.
