On Thursday, 21st of December 2023, Thomas Renard was interviewed by DW, a German broadcaster, about the terror risk posed by Islamist and far-right actors in Europe.
Renard said the "terrorist threat is much higher now than it was two or three years ago". These threats are linked with Islamist terror, the risk of Islamist terror, but also from the far right.
On the other side, Renard highlighted, EU member states are spending much more money on counterterrorism and are much better at sharing information internally between national agencies, as well as with other member states.
