On Wednesday, 31st January 2024, the media outlet De Volkskrant published an article about the newly released ICCT Press book "Female Jihadis Facing Justice: Comparing Approaches in Europe".
"Prison sentences for women who have joined the terrorist organisation Islamic State (IS) are much lower in the Netherlands than in neighbouring countries. However, their passports are more often revoked", the media outlet mentioned. "This is evident from a study published by the ICCT research institute on Wednesday into 283 criminal cases".
