Jodie Wrigley is a Visiting Fellow for the Strategic Communications Programme at the ICCT from September - November 2023.

During this time, she will explore how extreme climate events and narratives are being exploited in the public sphere and the potential violent extremist risks this presents. The project will bring together climate and strategic communication research and real-world evidence to understand the opportunities for strategic communication to prevent and counter this new and emerging threat.

Jodie is a Senior Strategic Communication Advisor to the United Nations Office of Counter Terrorism Global Program on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism, Head of Social Change at consultancy SenateSHJ and a postgraduate lecturer at the Department of Media and Communication at University of Sydney. 

She is an experienced strategic communication and behaviour change specialist with two decades’ experience. Bringing together the latest research and best practice Jodie has helped governments and organisations around the world create positive change. For the past seven years she has been focused on projects in countering violent extremism and reintegration communication, social cohesion and community resilience, as well as crisis, disaster and emergency response.
