Myriam Khairallah has served as a Counterterrorism and Threat Assessment Expert with the United Nations (UN) Security Council Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team since 2021, supporting the implementation of sanctions on individuals and entities designated pursuant to the 1267 and 1988 sanctions regimes.
In this role, Ms. Khairallah provided analytical reporting to the Security Council on global terrorism threats, with a particular focus on the Middle East and North Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, as well as on terrorism financing, foreign terrorist fighters, and evolving extremist networks. Her work included leading over 30 field missions and consultations with national authorities, financial regulators, and law enforcement agencies to support the implementation of targeted financial sanctions and counter-terrorism and terrorism financing measures. She has also represented the UN in international fora, including the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and its regional bodies, and participated in joint missions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Counter Terrorism Executive
Directorate (CTED).
Ms. Khairallah previously held roles as a Senior Financial Analyst at Lebanon’s Financial Intelligence Unit along with positions at the Central Bank of Lebanon. She holds an MBA from the Lebanese American University, is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS), and is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
