Thomas joined the ICCT in February 2023. He holds an LL.B. from Cardiff University, Wales and is in the process of completing his LL.M. in European Law at Leiden University. He is currently writing his thesis on the rule of law through an EU lens as part of that programme. In the past, Thomas has interned for law firms, specialising in Maritime Law and studying maritime claims, including pollution and personal injuries.
During his studies, Thomas has researched the rule of law in different contexts, such as state legitimacy and international aid attempts in Sub-Saharan Africa. He has also conducted research in a variety of different legal areas, including Legal History through a feminist perspective, the impact of societal values and norms in the shaping of the law, and the friction between the CJEU’s claim to legal primacy and the EU’s dialogical legal order.
