ICCT Associate Fellows in Foreign Affairs

On 31 January 2017, ICCT Associate Fellows Charlie Winter and Dr. Colin P. Clarke discussed the future of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in an article published in Foreign Affairs by providing an analysis of IS' media coordination and productivity over the past years. The Associate Fellows conclude that the amount of propaganda outlets is decreasing as the centre of the caliphate is shifting. This could potentially lead to a splintering of IS, which will demand a targeted counter-terrorism strategy.
